What if you did so and then sent an email to the company pointing out their security flaws so they could fix them?

Should there be exceptions, or is it wrong, no matter what?|||It is still illegal as you gained access to a computer system without explicit authorization. Whether you did it for altrustic reasons (pointing out security flaws) or for nefarious reasons is irrelevant as far as the law's concerned, so it is wrong, no matter what. Sending them an email would basically be giving them enough rope with which to hang yourself.|||Still wrong. Still illegal. Send them an email admitting what you did, and they will have an easy time prosecuting you.
